The High Commission encourages frequent exchange at the level of people from various walks of life, including businesspersons, professionals, teachers, students, pilgrims and visitors who wish to see their friends and relatives. Such exchanges promote mutual understanding and better appreciation of shared cultural heritage and of aspirations related to progress and peace. The liberalised visa regime is an important instrument to facilitate growing people-to-people contacts.
